In a hugely significant event for the Oranmore Maree GAA One Club, Larry McCarthy, GAA President, visited the site of the planned Renville Sports Grounds in June 2021. The visit coincided with the ticket draw for the ‘Win A Car’ fundraiser.
It was his first visit to a GAA club as President, where he met members of the club, past and present, local politicians and the Renville Sports Grounds committee. “It was a memorable occasion for me. I was delighted to meet your officers and the many members of your club, old and new, and to see the ambitious plans that you have. Thank you also for the memorial gift which you gave me,” said Larry McCarthy, GAA President.
